I spent 16 years in the banking and mortgage lending fields as a licensed mortgage broker, an assistant manager for a $1.1 billion savings and loan association, then a manager for the First State Bank of the Florida Keys. In between these positions, I took on a new challenge as the Director of Workplace Education for the Volusia Literacy Council and developed three award-winning workplace education programs in Volusia County. I served part-time, for 4 consecutive years, as a Loaned Executive for the United Way of Volusia County, raising thousands of dollars for many of the area's non-profit organizations. In 1995, I became a licensed real estate saleperson and sold homes in the unique Florida Keys real estate market. Then in 1997, I earned my Broker's license. I am now a member of the select group of outstanding performers known as the RE/MAX Platinum Club. In 2005 I earned a Lifetime Achievment award in RE/MAX International's Hall of Fame. As a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS®) I am among an elite group of less than 4% of REALTORS® who handle 25% of all real estate transactions nationwide. I reside with my husband, John, in Port Orange, where we have lived since 1980. We also resided in New Smyrna Beach from 1973 until 1980. Our daughter, Colleen, a Spruce Creek High School and University of Central Florida graduate, is a former special education teacher, is currently a Career Connections facilitator for Atlantic High School in Port Orange.
